Richard Carrizales for Congress
Issues in Focus
Housing
Affordable housing is becoming harder to access, and my background in the mortgage industry has shown me where meaningful improvements can be made. I’m focused on practical solutions that help people keep a stable home and expand access to modern, affordable housing options.
Businesses and Taxes
The debate over raising or lowering taxes has gone in circles for decades, but there are better ways to promote fairness and strengthen our economy. My focus is on simplifying the system, closing unfair loopholes, and creating incentives that reward companies for supporting their workers.
Focused on housing, food insecurity, and bipartisan solutions for Michigan's 2nd district. The issues outlined on this page are the focus of Richard Carrizales' campaign. In addition to his dedicated efforts in these areas, Richard is committed to engaging the community through town hall meetings, outreach programs, and collaborations with local organizations. He believes that by working together, we can tackle the challenges facing our neighborhoods and pave the way for a brighter future. The campaign aims to not only address immediate concerns but also to foster long-term sustainability and inclusivity for all residents in the region.
National Debt
The national debt is a serious challenge, and solving it requires steady, practical steps rather than drastic cuts. My approach focuses on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and identifying responsible ways to lower costs without harming essential services.
Work Assistance
There’s a growing gap between people who need work and employers who can’t find workers, especially in agriculture. My goal is to support programs that connect laborers with seasonal job opportunities by improving temporary housing and transportation.
Immigration
Immigration is a complex issue, shaped by concerns about cartel violence and compassion for those fleeing it. I believe we must take a firm stance against criminal organizations while still protecting people in immediate danger.
Drug Abuse
Substance abuse is a deeply personal issue for me, and I believe we need policies that both protect communities and help people rebuild their lives. My approach includes stronger action against the most lethal drugs and a rehabilitation-focused model for users, similar to successful programs abroad.
Healthcare
Healthcare affects everyone, and my goal is to offer practical solutions that address different needs without a one-size-fits-all approach. I’m focused on improving access, encouraging employers and insurers to offer better coverage, and expanding options for those without traditional insurance.
